Film and urban culture gathered nearly 10,000 people over five days in the heart of Kallio — at Karhupuisto’s outdoor screenings, Teatteri Sirkus Suosalo’s tent, and Kallio Church. The event, which received wide acclaim, will return in 2026.

Karhupuisto Film Festival was organized by four local cultural professionals living in Karhupuisto — Deniz Kaya, Mete Sasioglu, Onerva Helne, and Aleksi Kinnunen — together with Sons of Lumière and Pop Up Kino Helsinki. Friends of the event included, for example, Teatteri Sirkus Suosalo, Kallio Library, Kallio Parish, and Kallio Summer Streets.
