Alō

Pengerkatu 11

In addition to last year’s performance venues – the Theatre Circus Suosalo tent in Alli Trygg Park, the summer street in Karhupuisto, and Kallio Church – we now also have an old cinema on Pengerkatu. The art deco hall, which operated under the names Kinola, Kino Pylvässali, and Arina since the 1930s, is remembered for being the home of Ryhmäteatteri for over thirty years. The venue is now known as Alō.

Teatteri Sirkus Suosalo

Alli Trygg Park

This summer, too, Teatteri Sirkus Suosalo's tour concludes in Kallio. Martti Suosalo's tent, which serves as an altar for theatre and performance art, will be opened at the festival as a stage for cinematic art from Monday to Saturday. Here, numerous Nordic premieres and new cinematic experiences will be presented.

Kosmos, Karhupuisto’s own publishing house, will open its doors during the festival week for both a book-selling pop-up and Anna Äärelä's film club. Come and discover new books and learn about Kosmos’s activities!

Kallio Church

Kallio Church has plenty of program during the festival week! The church tower is open every hour from 12 PM to 4 PM throughout the week, on Thursday September 10th the church hosts interview with Pirjo Honkasalo, and on Friday, the church will screen films The Only Living Pickpocket in New York at 7:30 PM and Sad Girlz at 10:00 PM.

Bar Tÿpo

Lintulahdenkatu 3

This bar serves as the stage for the festival's opening club, short film screenings, and movie quiz, making it Kaikupiha's living room, stage, and a place for many encounters. Come and explore, or stay longer.

Limbo Bar

The party continues at Limbo on Saturday with an after-party from 10 PM to 3 AM. The festival's own DJs will be providing the music.

Hämeentie 13 B

Karhupuisto Film Club and the festival afterparty will take over Siltanen on Friday from 10 PM to 3 AM. Music will be provided by DJs Didier and Herkules.

Suvilahti DIY

Suvilahti

The festival week culminates in an open-air screening at Suvilahti DIY starting at 8:30 PM. Additionally, there will be a discussion program at Make Your Mark gallery before the movie night, starting at 7:00 PM.

During the festival week, the library's weekly programs BabyKino and Päiväkino are part of the festival program. In addition, the festival will host two discussion programs at the library.

Wednesday's and Thursday's open-air screenings and urban culture program will take over Karhupuisto! Bring your own chair and your friends to enjoy a unique movie experience under the linden trees of Karhupuisto.
