In the corrupt capital of Manila in 1970s Philippines, no one can be trusted, especially not the authorities. One of the corrupt is Police Chief Bernal, who ruthlessly abuses his power for personal gain. Female officer Dahl has had enough of the rot and breaks into her boss's opulent home to get money to help the local slum. The situation becomes complicated when she is assigned to investigate the very robbery she committed. Her partner is Charlie, her boss's nephew and her ex from years ago. A dangerous struggle for survival begins in nocturnal Manila, after which nothing will be the same.

Moonglow, which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival, is a dreamlike neo-noir, whose hazy images and moods pay homage to In the Mood For Love. Director and screenwriter Isabel Sandoval is considered "one of the most interesting and versatile filmmakers in the indie scene" by the esteemed distribution company The Criterion Collection. Sandoval also plays the lead role in the film.
