In a film set in Istanbul's art scene, young idealistic photographer Aslı seeks her place in the challenging art scene of the enormous city to get her works exhibited. She is helped in this goal by her kindest flatmate, Murat, who listens to Aslı's rebellion against the system.

Director Melik Kuru's debut feature film offers Ruben Östlund-esque satire on the grotesque posturing of the art world, as well as glimpses into the urban daily lives of twenty-something Turks, rarely seen on the big screen.

In Kuru's film, the ever-fascinating Istanbul is black and white, like in Ara Güler's photographs or the narrowed future prospects of young Turks. The director cited the French New Wave and Luis Buñuel as inspirations.

Dump of Untitled Pieces (İsimsiz Eserler Mezarlığı in Turkish) won three awards at the Istanbul Film Festival, including for its memorably colourful music by Efe Demiral and Simge Pınar.
