The Karhupuisto Film Festival will host a masterclass with Russell on Friday, September 11, at 3 PM.

Matthew, a twenty-something clothing store clerk in Los Angeles, is on duty when his idol, artist Oliver, unexpectedly walks in. Matthew captures Oliver's attention by playing a rare track through the store's speakers. A door to success and fame opens.

Staying in the inner circle and the stardust becomes like a drug for Matthew, as Oliver's entire team competes for the star's attention. Lurker turns into a psychological thriller and a tormenting cat-and-mouse game as the line between friendship and fandom blurs.

Alex Russell's (Beef, The Bear) acclaimed and award-winning directorial debut, which premiered at Sundance, brings the timeless rags-to-riches theme to the reality of today's social media, personal branding, and popular culture. Théodore Pellerin, who charmed the Karhupuisto audience last year in Nino, shines as Matthew. Oliver is played by the equally impressive Archie Madekwe, known from Saltburn and Midsommar.

Kenny Beats' magnificent music accompanies the euphoric and nightmarish moments of the story set in the city of dreams.
